IPL Hair Reduction

Unwanted hair can be removed very quickly. Treatment of the upper lip takes approximately 5 minutes and the back or legs takes less than 20 minutes.

The Nordlys treatment is non-invasive. Hair removal is accomplished by creating a heat reaction in the hair follicle which destroys the growing cells that make the hair. The hairs may remain in the skin and will fall out after 1 to 3 weeks as the epidermis is renewed. During this period, the hairs will appear to be growing as the epidermis pushes them out.

Some clients can experience skin redness immediately after treatment and very rarely, small blisters like with excessive sun exposure. However, most clients experience no side effects and any skin reactions usually disappear within hours to a few days.

Dark hairs are most easily treated due to their larger concentration of dark melanin which gives maximum absorption and conversion of light energy to heat. Fair hair has less melanin making it slightly less certain that we will achieve permanent destruction of the hair follicles. Grey (white) hair has almost no melanin and cannot be efficiently treated. For most clients, up to eight treatments with a four to six weeks interval can achieve good results. Facial hair may require more treatments. After the first treatment, most clients get a significant reduction in hair density and new grown hairs become finer.

Stop to slow and painful methods of hair removal

Ellipse = successful and safe hair removal

Excess hair may be the result of medical conditions, but the pressure to remove it may be cosmetic.

Ellipse, the world’s leader in Scientific Treatment Solutions and systems of high quality light (laser and I²PL) since 1997, has created a clinically proven treatment for safe and effective removal of unwanted hair.

To achieve a permanent hair removal it is necessary to destroy the hair follicle where the hair grows. Controlled pulses of light penetrate the epidermis and are absorbed by melanin in the hair. The light energy converted into heat is transferred to the hair follicle, which is then destroyed and unable to produce a new hair. The treatment is effective only in case of growing hair attached to the follicle, the hair in the “resting phase” will be treated later. Therefore a successful hair removal needs several sessions, depending mainly on the treated area.

The visible light produced by the Ellipse I²PL system is carefully controlled to emit the exact pulse duration and the correct wavelengths, and the amount of energy necessary to destroy the hair follicle.

Please notice: Incorrect wavelengths and amount of energy used are the main reasons for unsuccessful results, or even worse, skin or hair damage known from low quality IPL or Laser systems.
